High Starch Pellet
Nutrinza’s High Starch Pellet is a grain-based pellet designed to provide a concentrated source of energy for dairy cows.
Feeding recommendations
Due to its high starch content, High Starch Pellet should be introduced gradually to allow cows to adapt and reduce the risk of rumen acidosis.
Once adapted, typical feeding rates range from 2–4kg per cow per day, depending on production targets and the overall diet.
As High Starch Pellet is relatively low in protein, it should be balanced with adequate protein sources (pasture or supplementary feeds) and sufficient fibre to maintain rumen health and optimise performance.

Nutritional benefits
High Starch Pellet supplies readily available starch, supporting rumen microbial activity and overall feed utilisation.
Adequate starch levels help drive rumen function, improving fibre digestion, rumen activity, and voluntary feed intake. This makes it a useful option for supporting milk production, particularly during periods of high demand such as early lactation and peak production.
Pelletising improves handling, reduces wastage, and ensures consistent flow through feeding systems.

Feed storage on farm
As with any grain or meal feed, products need to be kept dry, as moisture combined with heat can cause fungi to grow. Common on-farm storage methods are: in a shed or unused fertiliser bin; in a covered pit; on a concrete pad; or in a cutting, covered with a plastic sheet and tyres. Most feed should be used reasonably expediently (within 40 - 50 days). The longer you plan to store feed products, the better your storage facilities need to be.
