AcidBuf

Description

AcidBuf is a highly-effective rumen conditioner and buffer, which aids in the optimisation of rumen stability and pH, as well as providing bioavailable sources of Calcium and Magnesium.  AcidBuf is sustainably harvested from calciferous marine algae.

Nutritional Benefits

Trials and research have shown that AcidBuf optimises rumen efficiency by:
  1. Preventing Sub-Acute ruminal acidosis (SARA)
  2. Maintaining optimal rumen pH
  3.  Optimising total VFA (energy) yield
  4. Provides bioavailable Calcium and Magnesium
  5. Reduces methane

Diets low in effective fibre or high in rapidly fermenting feedstuffs expose herds to higher risks of extended periods of lower than desirable pH levels (SARA).  AcidBuf works to prevent the drop in rumen pH, while maintaining high VFA production (energy yield).

Feeding Recommendations

As with all rumen buffering, consideration should be given to the SARA risk across the whole diet.  Typically included at half the rate of Sodium Bicarbonate, ideally AcidBuf is fed at roughly 0.4 - 0.5% of Dry Matter Intake or approximately 50 - 70 grams at typical intake levels.

AcidBuf is available in 1100kg bulk bags or as a feed additive in blends.
